For Spring Break I am planning to go on a trip with my friends to the beach. Although everything is set up and ready to go=, I do not know if I can go with them and I am going to feel bad not going, but I feel that I need a break and to be with family since I have not in a while. Life has made me realize that as important as friends are, family is more important and you do not get alot of time to know some of your family so you have to take what you can get. Although sitting on the beach sounds fun, it is not the most important thing in life, and I guess I just have to do what is best for myself. If that means sitting on the beach in the middle of no where then that is what I will do, and if it means staying at home and trying to be more a part of my families life then I will do that too, either way I think me friends will understand, they have always seemed to be there for me before. It is funny the people that do come and go in your life whether it is by choice or not by choice that they leave you or stay with you, wither way I guess it is life.

Colors

I do not understand all of the personality test that say that your favorite color can define who you are. No on can define who you are but yourself. People can get to know you and find out what you like an do not like, but knowing what a person is like based on what kind of colors they like is stupid. yeah it is fun to do and see the person you are "suppsoe to be like" but it is not realistic. Life is realistic, and how you handle the good times and the bad times. How you handle other people treating you. You always have to be the bigger person because you never know what is going on in someone's life or what they are dealing with. So to be defined but anything but yourself is a joke, having faith in yourself and doing the best you can do is all that you can ask for in life.

Talk about Topic

I am going to talk abou Atlantis and where I think thart Atlantis might lie. I think Atlantis is in Crete and Santorini parts of Greece now. Every fact that I have come across has matched up to Atlantis being here around 1500bc, but the thing that does not match up is that Plato said that Atlantis was in the Atlantic Ocean and clearly Crete and Santorini are not in the Atlantic ocean. It was so long ago Plato might have had a different sence of tyhe land or maybe it shifted a little I am not sure, but regardless I sill think that Atlantis was on Crete. This is a very recent discovery, it was actually discovered in the last 2-3 years so any book before that might be out to date so I have had to be careful on my research. Scientisit are still exploring lost civilizations of what they believe to be cities that were part of the nation of Atlantis in Crete and Santorini and they are finding more and more. It might just take a couple more years to fully solve the mystery but I think that we are almost there. I think that it might be a bad thing thought because Atlantis is the mysterious place that some many people wonder about and once it is discovered it is not going to ever stand up to the image that people think of it. It was no doubt a nation that was way ahead of their time, but there is no way that they can be before out time

Exploration strategy #1

1. People usually comment on wether or not the land of Atlantis is real, but we are not trying to find a land but rather a culture and one disappeared. The subject is a lost civilization not necessarly a lost land mass.

2. People make the believe that Atlantis is a majical place and that once we find it we are going to find all of these treasurers. The problem with that belief is that Atlantis was just a normal civilization centuries ago. They might have advance things for their time but not for our time. It leaves out the emotion the these were real people with real lives just like we are and they were killed and disappeared overnight.

3. My readers are going to be people that are more adventurous or scientific, although the finding of Atlantis has boggled all sorts of people for years. I have lots of friends that were very interested in my findings when I told them I was researching Atlantis for my topic

4. People already know that Atlantis was a civilization and then for some unknown reason the civilization disappeared, the mystery is that no one knows how it disappeared

5. There are going to be different places that are researched and names of different civilizations but those will all be explained in the paper. The background information is that the first time Atlantis was ever mentioned on paper was through some writing of Plato.

6. They might disagree with me on where I think Atlantis might lie, but I feel that I as well as other scientist have hard evidence to support it. The best way I can prove my point is providing all of the facts good and bad.

7. I am going to briefly discuss where some people might think Atlantis is and then I am going to go into depth about where I think Atlantis is and where most scientisit think it mighyt lie

Week 4 Blog 4 - Free Write

So my next blog is going to be about the media talking crap about Jessica Simpson.  I am sorry but this is just stupid, and ridiculous.  She is in no way fat or even close to it.  I cannot believe what the media is saying about her.  I mean if they are saying that she is fat then what are the people that are normal like her in our society thinking about themselves.  I went to an all girl school and there where times when I would go to the bathroom and I would here girls throwing up in the bathroom.  TOday there are young girls under so much pressure, and what do they think when they see someone normal and healthy like Jessica Simpson being called fat, they are going to think that they are fat.  That is horrible. Why the media thinks that they have the write to go in and attack some ones life for no reason.  The one thing I have heard that I like is there are a lot of news programs and famous people like her ex-husband that are saying that she is not fat and the inquires are ridiculous which is good that there are some many people attacking the people that attacked Jessica Simpson, I guess there might be a little good left in the media... who knows it will be different next week I am sure

Week 4 Blog 3 - Free Write

I want to talk about about some of my pet peeves with electronics.. mostly phones or aim.  I have two main pet peeves.  THe first pet peeve that I have it when people text you or IM you and say "hey" so you text or IM them back and say "hey what's up" but then after that they never text or IM you back.  Pet peeve becuase if you were not going to talk to me then why did text or IM me in the first place, all you did was waste my time.  The second thing that upsets me is when people do not say bye.  For instance, if you have ever watched the show 7th heaven you might or might not notice that when they are on the phone and go to hang up no one ever says "bye" or "cya" or anything.  they always just hang up in the middle of a conversation.  That happens on a bunch of different shows and I do not understand why no one ever says good bye, it rarely happens in real life.  When it does happen in real life it bugs me like nothing else.  I have when people do not sya bye, they just sign off or hang up with out saying bye.  So that is my main pet peeve.

Week 4 Blog 2 - Topic for Research Essay

I am dealing with horse back riding and wanting to ride more competitly than I have money for. I have spent alot of money to go to a show in St. Louis and just horseback riding in general. I am also looking for a new apt. for next year with a few girls. I just had heart surgery a year back and I am still recovering from that. I am getting upset with my sorority and the way that people are running the sorority. I am questioning my religion alot. I would also want to know what makes guys tick because they have be so wishy walshy sometimes. I also want to know what it take with horse back riding. I have no other research papers do in any other classes right now. My mom is dating right now, that effects my life. I wish my dad was more a part of my life. I wish I was closer to my little sister. My top priority and hobbie in my life is riding horses competitivly.
